Reflections

I have been working on a project for my sociology class about how having a children with illness or disability affects the family and I have reflected a lot about when I was on treatment and recovering.

Today I was filling my pill box, like I do every week, and I wondered to myself, "how many pills do I take every day?" and this little poem-esque thingy came to mind and I thought I would share it with you all.

I take thirteen and a half pills a day
I have trouble remembering things sometimes
I have over four feet of surgical scaring on my body
My ankle and foot don't function normally

but

I'm alive
I survived
I'm loved
I'm thriving
I'm alive

Mischief managed,
Sammy
(in case you're wondering, that's 94.5 pills a week and 4,914 pills a year)
